New Lead Sports Therapist
Ben Winchester

July 31st 2022

The club is pleased to announce Ben Winchester as our new Lead Sports Therapist.

Ben is a fully qualified Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist who specialises in using advanced techniques and rehabilitation programmes, treating those with minor and chronic injuries to enhance performance.

In addition to this, he is also qualified in K Taping and sports rehab acupuncture. Both techniques work side by side to provide support during training and games which is paramount to increasing mobility and help accelerate the return to rehab and training.

The established training and methodologies will be a great asset to the club and its members, in treating them correctly to get them back playing on the field, adding even more value to our playing membership.

Ben will begin working with the senior squad as we approach our preseason games and will be available to playing members to book sports treatments from late September.

In addition, the club has now sourced a qualified doctor, who will be able to better diagnose and advise on more severe injuries which cannot be treated by conventional therapy. The doctor will be called on a case by case basis as agreed between the DoR and Ben.

Ben's arrival adds a more progressive and dynamic approach to treatment for our players and the added benefit of the doctor for consulting means Maidstone Rugby takes even better care of its playing members base.

Ben said "I have huge passion in helping athletes with musculoskeletal injuries, helping them achieve their sporting goals and not be side lined with injuries. I look forward to playing my part in helping Maidstone Rugby Club achieve success in the future".

Ben has his own business BW Therapy which you can contact for your own private needs. Checkout his business page on Facebook here or his Instagram here.

We welcome Ben to the Maidstone Rugby family.
