MFC Appoints New Treasurer

November 14th 2022

With David Eiffert looking to step down this season from the Treasury as noted at the AGM, the club is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Davidson, to the role of Treasurer.

Richard has a vast background knowledge with finance, running the finances for a £30m Commercial business with 5 individual trading entities. Along with this, Richard also held the same role with Dartford FC for ten years, being involved with all aspects of community-based sports clubs from funding, admin roles through to staffing.

Richard has also worked with DoR Steve Oram in the past at Aylesford RFC, coaching alonside each other before taking over the Youth section when Steve moved on. He was also responsible for achieving the RFU seal of Approval for Aylesford. The club is delighted to have Richard on board and the committee look forward to working alongside him as looks to find ways to ensure our finances goes from strength to strength. Richard has completed the handover & will now begin working as the Treasurer with a review of his financial findings in the New Year.

As David Eiffert now steps down the club would like to thank him for his tremendous efforts over the past three years. It has been one of the most testing times in memory, having to work diligently with the Committee to ensure we remained solvent and in a strong position, during the challenges of Covid. David is also more than happy to get his hands dirty for the cause, literally, as he cleaned dishes and assisted with Ladies Luncheons, as well as groundswork whenever he could. The finance committee under his umbrella has done stella work to continue the club's forward momentum & he departs the role with the club's gratitude.
