The honoured 12

Mickey Back

Our very own VP and ex-President of The Mote, Mickey Back, has had a day to remember courtesy of the RFU. At the age of 82 he keeps things going at the club grounds working tirelessly on the Cricket square, marking our pitches, as well as offering advice and a helping hand on all grounds matters.
As part of the RFU initiative to thank volunteer groundspersons, Mickey was one of only 12 from up and down the land to be invited to be awarded. A dinner and hotel night stay was then followed by a day at The Stoop and the Cabbage Patch to discuss grass, general maintenance and even get to mow the famous pitch itself.
The club relies on its volunteers and we are pleased that the RFU recognised one of our own as an invaluable member keeping the Mote grounds ticking over year on year.
